Meters
These tools are designed to help Telstra BigPond™ Broadband
customers monitor their own usage.
MRTGGraph
is designed to keep watch on the Usage Meter, and record the current usage
at five minute intervals on a web page. This allows you to see a trend
graph of your current and past usage, and therefore might allow you to
better estimate what your end-of-month usage is. Another bonus of this
tool is that any slipups in the Usage Meter (unavailabilities and so on)
are recorded, thus allowing you to better see the actual availability of
Telstra's Usage Server. Comes with a whole suite of other tools which can
be used to track a whole host of things to do with Telstra's broadband
network.
Usage Meter
is an easy to use, user friendly, tool for Windows users. Once activated,
it sits in the system tray, and can be called up at any time to get a
current usage.
bURL
is another UNIX based tool, which uses the
cURL
web spidering tool to obtain values from the usage meter. An added bonus
of this tool is that it can optionally shut down your netlink when you
reach the 3000MB free data mark as imposed by Telstra; this of course
prevents you from inadvertenly exceeding the 3000MB mark.
